Our cumulative final will cover the following sections (From Fundamentals of Physics 12th ed. ):
- Units: 1.1-1.3
- 1D Kinematics: 2.1-2.5
- Vectors: 3.1-3.2
- 2D Kinematics: 4.1-4.5
- Forces: 5.1-5.3 & 6.1-6.3
- Energy: 7.1-7.3, 7.6, 8.1-8.5
- Momentum: 9.1-9.9
- Rotation: 10.1-10.7
- Torque: 11.1-11.9
- Gravitation: 13.1-13.7
- Fluids: 14.1-14.5
- Oscillations: 15.1-15.4
- Heat: 18.1-18.4
To prepare:
- Be able to do every question from MT1 and MT2 on a blank piece of paper.
- Be able to do every homework and in-class problem from start to finish on a blank piece of paper.
- Be able to distill the essence of each question into a few steps, without referencing exact values and numbers, just relations between quantities.
- Know every relevant formula and be able to explain what each term means.
- Work through the solved problems in the book.
- Pick some extra questions from the end of the each chapter and work on them.
- Manipulate equations using algebra.
- Be able to find the derivative of simple polynomials.
- Know the basics of Trigonometry.
- READ THE BOOK
The test will be closed book, no notes, no calculators, no devices of any kind other than a pencil. There will be approximately 40 multiple choice questions. Seats will be assigned in advance. The duration of the exam will be 2h15 (135 minutes). Bring a valid CUNY ID. Please be on time - more than 20 minutes late will result in a 0 score.

There are no breaks allowed during the exam. If you doubt your body's ability to sit in a chair for 2.25 hours, you might look into taking the exam in the accessibility office.
